Patzún antique ceremonial huipil.

From the Dr. Richard P. Mandell collection.

This circa-1950 ceremonial huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped cotton panels of hand spun thread that are joined by multi-colored cotton decorative seams. The head opening is surrounded by hand embroidery in silk in the “plumas” design. Huipils such as this one are unique and rare. This classic example is in excellent condition. W 111 x L 63 cm. (16-210) $ 700. OBO.
