Patzún daily huipil.

This circa-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton/rayon blend warp-striped panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. This base material is known as “aleman” and is prized for its softness and drape. This huipil features extensive hand embroidered decoration in the traditional but less common “plumas” motif, more often associated with ceremonial huipils. White is a very uncommon base color. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Dońa Juana Mateo Rosales at her tienda in the Tinamit Maya on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W 84 x L 53 cm. (15-77) $ 150. OBO
