Patzún daily huipil.
This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two cotton/rayon blend warp-striped panels joined by “randas”, hand embroidered decorative seams.
This base material is known as “aleman” and is prized for its softness and drape. This huipil features extensive hand embroidered decoration in the traditional
but less common “plumas” motif, more often associated with ceremonial huipils. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Juana Mateo Rosales in
Panajachel. W80 x L47 cm. (12-135) $ 120.
