Patzicía ceremonial huipil. W126 x L108 cm opened. The fine pre-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in 2 red cotton panels joined by a hand embroidered decorative seam. Much of the supplementary brocade and the decorative seam are in silk. It features warp stripes in ixcaco – hand spun naturally brown cotton. Patzicía ceremonial huipils are rare and especially so with silk and ixcaco decoration. This is an exceptional example.
