Patzicia ceremonial huipil. W112 x L108 cm opened. This pre-1980 ceremonial huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two red striped cotton panels. The panels are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. Some of the stripes in the base material are ixcaco, hand spun naturally brown cotton. Some of the supplementary brocade decoration is in silk. Patzicia ceremonial (sobre) huipils are very rare, especially with both silk and ixcaco. This unique piece is in very good condition. It was acquired from the Centro de Textiles Tradicionalel Nim Po’t in Antigua Guatemala. (6-280) $ 120 *SOLD*
