Patzicía vintage ceremonial huipil.

This circa 1960 ceremonial huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two predominantly dark red, warp-striped cotton panels. These panels feature a single horizontal ban of supplementary brocade in silk. It also features thin warp stripes in ixcaco – hand spun, naturally brown cotton. Patzicía ceremonial huipils are rare, especially this old and with silk. This example is in good condition although there is evident wear. It was collected from Sra. Juana Mateo Rosales of Panajachel. W 88 x L 49 cm. (21-84) $ 130 or best offer.
