Patzicia ceremonial huipil.

This rare circa-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two wide, warp-striped and well-matched cotton panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. Very thin warp stripes in hand spun natural brown cotton. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade featuring human and geometric designs typical of Patzicia. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from an anonymous private collection in Guatemala. W 130 x L 55 cm. (18-83) $360. OBO
