Patzicía daily huipil.

This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped red base panels that are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The base panels are "aleman", a blend of cotton and rayon prized for its softness and drape. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade in a classic style typical of Patzicia, particularly the horizontal rows of human figures. The collar is ample and trimmed with hand crochet. This example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Juana Mateo Rosales in her tienda in Tinamit Maya on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W 82 x L 53 cm. (16-98) $ 100. OBO
