This circa-1980 piece is made from a hand spun, indigo dyed base material of a much older textile. The embroidery surface decoration in silk is more recent than the base. The head and sleeve openings are trimmed in silk. It was intended to be worn by a saint in a local church. It was acquired from the collection of an ex-US diplomat in Guatemala. Doll sized.
