Panajachel daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in one warp-striped red cotton panel decorated with supplementary brocade. The brocade features rows of cats, birds, people and plants. The head hole is finished with hand embroidery chain stitch. Panajachel huipils are increasingly rare. This example is in very good condition. It was acquired from the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales Nim Po’t in Antigua Guatemala. W 81 x L 61 cm. (15-76) $ 140. OBO
