Panajachel faja (sash).
This post-2000 faja was hand woven on a back strap loom in one cotton panel featuring
multi-colored warp stripes. Some of these stripes include simple ikat dye patterns. It is further decorated by
large areas of embroidery on each end. Fajas specific to Panajachel are uncommon. This outstanding example is
in excellent condition. It was acquired from Paulina Ramos at her stall at the Hospedaje San Francisco on Calle
Santander in Panajachel. W 9x L 330 cm plus fringes. (15-219) $ 45. OBO
