Panajachel daily huipil. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three dark red cotton panels with brown warp stripes and decorated
with supplementary brocade. The center panel is wider and more extensively decorated. The brocade decoration on the center panels features rows of bird, cat and
universal diamond motifs. The head hole is finished with hand embroidery chain stitch. Panajachel huipils are increasingly rare. This example is in excellent
condition. It was acquired from Elena Escalon at the La Fuente market in Antigua Guatemala. W88 x L91 cm. (14-21) $ 140. OBO
