This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three dark red/brown warp striped cotton base panels. The center panel is wider and decorated with rows of cats in supplementary brocade. The head opening is trimmed with hand embroidery in a buttonhole stitch. Panajachel huipils are increasingly rare. This example is in excellent condition.
