Palin vintage huipil.

This pre-1970 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in a single white cotton base panel that typically is red on its outer edges. The white base thread is hand spun. This panel is decorated with supplementary brocade featuring universal diamond and bird motifs. Palin huipils are increasingly rare, older ones especially so. This unique example is in very good condition. It was part of the Vourvoulias Collection, brought to the US in 1975 by the Guatemalan sculptor, Joyce Bush de Vourvoulias. W 60 x L 39 cm. (12-56) $ 90.
