This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in a single white cotton base panel. It is decorated with supplementary brocade featuring bird, universal diamond and plumed serpent motifs. It is very large for a Palin huipil, possibly indicating ceremonial use. Palin huipils are increasingly rare. This example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Bonifacia Mendez Bocó at the Artesanos market in Antigua Guatemala. W 77 x L 110 cm opened. (11-51) $ 100. OBO
