Nebaj vintage huipil. W84 x L140 cm opened. This pre-1970 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in 2 white cotton panels decorated with dense supplementary brocade featuring bird, animal and human motifs. The white base thread was hand spun, very unusual and associated only with the oldest Nebaj huipils. The traditional Nebaj collar design was hand embroidered. This fine example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Tomás Ren in the Chichicastenango market. (9-155) $ 300. SOLD.
