Nebaj daily huipil. W67 x L146 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom on one white cotton base panel. The panel is extensively decorated with supplementary brocade in horizontal rows containing bird and human figures against a red background. The collar decoration is hand embroidered in the traditional Nebaj style symbolizing the four cardinal directions. Having the decoration organized in horizontal bands is unusual for a Nebaj huipil. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Maria Secajan Perez of San Antonio Palopo. (8-41) $ 140. SOLD.
