Santa Maria Nebaj daily huipil.

This circa-2000 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade featuring animal, bird and geometric motifs typical of Nebaj weavings. The traditional collar design symbolizing the four cardinal directions is hand embroidered. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Gladys Mendoza of Santa Maria de Jesus at her stall in the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua. W 86 x L 61 cm. (21-95) $ 140 or best offer.
