Santa Maria Nebaj corte (wrap skirt).

This circa-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in one weft striped red cotton panel plus a narrow matching piece added for length. Nebaj cortes in all cotton are increasingly uncommon. The weft stripes include simple ikat dye patterns. This example is in very good condition. It was acquired from the tienda of Sra. Bonifacia Bocó in the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua Guatemala.
