Santa Maria Nebaj daily huipil.

This amazing pre-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton blend (“aleman”) base panels. These panels are heavily decorated with very complex supplementary brocade featuring animal, bird and geometric motifs typical of Nebaj weavings. The traditional collar design symbolizing the four cardinal directions is hand embroidered. This superb example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Bonifacia Mendez Bocó at her tienda in the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua. W 80 x L 62 cm. (19-141) $ 210 or best offer.
