Nebaj daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton base panels. The panels are decorated with supplementary brocade featuring animal, bird and geometric motifs typical of Nebaj weavings. The complex intermingling of these motifs gives the overall design an abstract quality. The traditional collar design is hand embroidered. This classic example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Tomasa Calbo at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel. W 83 x L 60 cm. (15-69) $ 160. OBO
