Nahuala tzute (utility cloth). W94 x L106 cm opened. This post-1980 tzute was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp striped cotton panels. Each panel is decorated with bird and animal motifs in supplementary brocade. These tzutes are uncommon and the vendor states this particular style is used in cofradia ceremonies. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G). (8-251) $125. OBO
