Nahuala tzute (utility cloth). W97 x L109 cm opened. This post-1980 tzute was hand woven on a back strap loom in two striped cotton panels. The blue stripes are dyed with the natural dye, indigo. Each panel is decorated with fantastic animal motifs in supplementary brocade. These tzutes are uncommon, are often used ceremonially and this is a very fine example. It is in excellent condition.
