Nahuala daily huipil. W86 x L152 cm opened. This post 1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well balanced blue cotton panels. The blue is from a natural indigo dye. It is unusually wide. The panels are joined by a hand embroidered decorative seams. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade in cotton and rayon featuring rows of bird (probably turkey) motifs. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Ana Carolina Ajuanel of Chichicastenango. (8-121) $ 100. SOLD.
