Nahuala ceremonial huipil. W80 x L128 cm opened. This post 1980 ceremonial huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three white cotton panels. The center panel is wider than the others. The panels are joined by a hand embroidered decorative seams. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade in cotton and rayon in the "kashlan po't" style and featuring the double headed eagle motif. This huipil was used in "cofradia society" ceremonies. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Jose Maria Pocop Barreno (El Guipil Collection) of Panajachel. (8-112) $ 130. SOLD.
