Nahuala daily huipil.
W86 x L142 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. It is decorated with supplementary brocade, principally in the “petate” motif. A petate is a woven reed bed. The brocade is in cotton and rayon. It appears to be color fast. The collar is trimmed with chain stitch embroidery and in the t-shape traditional in Nahuala. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Estefana Culajah of Patzún.
