Nahuala daily huipil. W84 x L152 cm opened. This circa1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in 2 cotton panels that are joined by a hand embroidered decorative seam. The supplementary brocade features well matched rows of universal diamonds and birds, the central one being the “pavo real”. The white base material has been stained intentionally with red, a typical feature of older Nahuala huipils. The neck and arm holes are finished with chain stitching. It is in very good condition.
