Nahuala daily huipil. W79 x L144 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well balanced multi-colored striped cotton panels decorated with supplementary brocade. The panels are joined by a hand embroidered decorative seams. The supplementary brocade is in cotton and features lion motifs. The blue stripes in the base are indigo dyed. This striped base is uncommon in Nahuala huipils, but often seen in their tzutes. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Petronila Mendez Boco of Santa Maria de Jesus. (6-16) $ 85. SOLD.
