Nahuala ceremonial huipil.

Nahuala ceremonial huipil. This pre-1980 huipil is considered ceremonial because of its three-panel construction featuring the double-headed eagle motif in the center panel. This is known as the “kashlan po’t” style. This huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three indigo blue warp striped cotton panels. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade. This example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Manuela Marroquin of Nahualá at the La Fuente market in Antigua Guatemala. W 84 x L 72 cm. (6-14) $ 100.
