Hand woven on a back strap loom in one cotton panel. The base is indigo dyed with narrow magenta warp stripes. Both ends are decorated with supplementary brocade featuring highly abstracted plumed serpent motifs. Circa 1975. Acquired from Sr. Pedro Xiloj, belt specialist in the Chichicastenango market – Sundays only. It is in very good condition. W 21 x L 350 cm. (23-44) $ 100 or best offer.
