Nahuala cargador (carrying cloth).
Nahuala (or its “aldea”, Santa Catrina Ixtahuacan) cargador (carrying cloth). This post-1980 cargador was hand woven
on a back strap loom in two warp striped cotton panels. Each panel is decorated with fantastic lion motifs in supplementary
brocade. Although questionable, I associate the lion motif with Santa Catrina Ixtahuacan. Santa Catarina Ixtahuacan
cargadors are rare. This very fine example is in excellent condition.
It was acquired from Sra. Berta Hernandez of Santa Maria de Jesus. (21-48) W 100 x L 118 cm. $ 210 or best offer.
