Nahuala ceremonial/cofradia men's head tzute.

This circa-2000 tzute was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton panels joined by a hand embroidered decorative seam. The panels are decorated with supplementary brocade in cotton and silk featuring well-matched double-headed eagle motifs in the center and animal motifs in each corner. The use of rayon, mimicking silk, is very common in Nahuala items and the use of silk is very rare, but we believe this very special example utilizes silk. A Nahuala ceremonial head tzute with silk brocade is very rare. This tzute is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Berta Hernandez of Santa Maria de Jesus. W 109 x L 129 cm. (21-42) $ 200 or best offer.
