Nahualá daily huipil.
This circa-2000 huipil was hand woven on a back-strap loom in two well balanced, warp-striped cotton base panels joined by hand
embroidered decorative seams. The blue base thread is the natural dye, indigo. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade in
cotton and rayon (to mimic silk) featuring complex zoomorphic patterns. This fine example is in excellent condition.
It was acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) in Antigua. W 78 x L 71 cm. (20-29) $ 120 or best offer.
