Nahualá daily huipil.
This circa-2000 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced, multi-colored warp striped cotton panels
joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade featuring masked dancer motifs. The
blue stripes in the base are indigo dyed. This striped base is uncommon in Nahuala huipils, but often seen in their ceremonial
tzutes. This fine example is in very good condition.
It was acquired from Sra. Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) in Antigua. W 84 x L 68 cm. (20-19) $ 120 or best offer.
