Nahuala daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back-strap loom in two well balanced, warp-striped cotton panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The blue base thread is the natural dye, indigo. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade in cotton and rayon (to mimic silk) with horizontal bans featuring the double-headed eagle motif. This beautiful example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Ema and Carmen Tepeú, mother and daughter, at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua. W 86 x L 70 cm. (16-95) $ 110. OBO
