Nahuala daily huipil.
This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced, warp
striped blue cotton panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The base thread is dyed with indigo.
The surface decoration is supplementary brocade in cotton and rayon (to mimic silk). The principal motif is of
costumed dancers. This very fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Doña Juana Mateo
Rosales at her tienda in Panajachel. W 81 x L 72 cm. (15-67) $ 130. OBO
