Nahuala huipil. W87 x L145 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well balanced indigo dyed blue cotton base panels. The panels are joined by a hand embroidered decorative seams. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade in cotton and rayon featuring rows of animal motifs that resemble very angry deer, an unusual motif. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G). (10-41) $ 100. SOLD.
