Nahuala huipil. W91 x L127 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well balanced indigo dyed blue cotton base panels. The panels are joined by a hand embroidered decorative seams and are decorated with supplementary brocade in cotton and red rayon. The supplementary brocade is in the "petate" (floor mat) style and features plumed serpent, geometric and bird motifs. This beautiful example is in excellent condition.
