Nahualá faja (sash). W 22 x L 318 cm. This circa-1980 faja was hand woven on a back strap loom in cotton with some brocade in rayon. The base is indigo dyed with narrow magenta warp stripes. It is decorated with colorful supplementary brocade including the plumed serpent motif and others, with different designs on each end. This extra-wide, extra-long faja is in very good condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G). (10-327) $80. Sold. Others similar may be available. Photos on request.
