Momostenango rebozo (shawl).
This circa-1980 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in one cotton panel. It features the extensive use of ixcaco, hand spun undyed, naturally brown
cotton. It also features weft stripes of simple ikat dye patterns. The warp base thread is indigo dyed. Momostenango rebozos with ixcaco are rare. This
example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Juana Mateo Rosales at her tienda in Tinamit Maya on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W 50 x L 136 cm
plus fringes. (6-152) $ 48. OBO
