Momostenango huipil de nina.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in one green cotton base panel. Momostenango style involves the creation of diamonds in the weaving by the juxtaposition of ikat dyed weft threads. This technique is unique to Momostenango. Momostenango huipils are now seldom seen being worn. The head opening is trimmed with embroidery. This uncommon example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Sofia Monroy Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) in Antigua. W 66 x L 652 cm. (20-10) $ 60 or best offer.
