Momostenango ceremonial huipil.
This huipil was hand woven on a back-strap loom in two red and white cotton panels. This
huipil lacks the ikat diamonds I commonly associate with Momostenango huipils, but I was told on very good authority that it was
from Momostenango. It has four “lunas”, an uncommon feature also suggesting ceremonial use. It is large and long and in
mint condition. It was acquired from an anonymous private collection in Guatemala. W 116 x L 93 cm. (18-72) $160. OBO
