This circa-1980 corte was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in two matching warp-striped cotton panels. These stripes feature complex ikat dye patterns, a technique that employs a resist dying process similar to tie-dye, except the threads are dyed before they are woven. The specific provenance was given by the vendor. Cortes specific Momostenango are rare. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Milagro Chavez at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua.
