Momostenango cargador (carrying cloth).
This circa-1980 cargador was hand woven on a foot treadle loom in two cotton base panels joined by a “randa”, a hand
embroidered decorative seam. It features extensive use of ixcaco, hand-spun naturally brown cotton, in both warp and weft. The blue stripes are indigo dyed.
Momostenango cargadors with ixcaco are rare. It is very large and in very good condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez
