Joyabaj daily huipil.
This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two
predominantly red striped cotton blend base panels. The neck and arm holes are surrounded by hand embroidered
circles of decoration typical of Joyabaj huipils. The arm holes are also trimmed with crochet. The hem is trimmed
as it is worn outside the skirt. The sides have been tailored. This large example is in very good condition. It
was acquired from Ana Carolina Ajanel of Chichicastenango. W98 x L106 cm opened. (10-34) $ 85.
