Huitan daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-matched red cotton base panels with weft stripes in various colors. These panels are joined by embroidered decorative seams. The panels are decorated by horizontal bands of supplementary brocade featuring bird, animal and geometric motifs. Traditional textiles in the Huitan style are rare. This is a very fine example. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Rosa Hernandez in Santa Maria de Jesus. W 84 x L 79 cm. (20-05) $ 120 or best offer.
