Huitan daily huipil.

This pre-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two red cotton weft-striped panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. These panels each have darts. The head and arm openings are trimmed with velvet. Traditional textiles in the Huitan style are rare; examples this old more rare. This is a fine example in very good condition. It was acquired from Sr. Julio Cesar Ajanel at his tienda on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W 82 x L 77 cm. (16-94) $ 80. OBO
