Huitan daily huipil.

This post-2000 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two red cotton weft striped base panels joined by embroidered decorative seams. They are decorated by very well matched bands of supplementary brocade featuring various colors and geometric motifs. The head opening is trimmed with velvet. Traditional textiles in the Huitan style are rare. This is a very fine example in excellent condition. It was acquired from Juanita Conos at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua. W 85 x L 85 cm. (15-57) $ 100. OBO
