Cruz Blanca daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two wide white cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with supplementary brocade and joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The supplementary brocade features bird and plant motifs. The head hole is trimmed with a hand embroidered collar. Cruz Blanca huipils are influenced by the much larger nearby town of San Juan Sacatepequez. Cruz Blanca huipils are rare. This very fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Ana Carolina Ajanel of Chichicastenango. W116 x L118 cm opened. (6-250) $75. OBO
