San Juan Cotzal ceremonial huipil.

This circa-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three white cotton panels. The center panel is wider, more heavily decorated and with a hand spun thread base. The added lace trim is not traditional. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade. It has the traditional collar with symbols of the cardinal directions. It is very good condition. Acquired from a private collection in Santa Fe. W88 x L70 cm. (18-04) $150. OBO
